How to use Traffic Sign Recognition
- Traffic Sign Recognition uses your vehicle’s embedded navigation system and front camera to recognize certain nearby traffic signs. This requires an active eligible OnStar® plan.
- Your vehicle will display the detected sign in your centerstack display or driver display, depending on your vehicle.
- When you go over the detected speed limit, Traffic Sign Recognition will alert you. You'll also get an alert when it detects the speed limit has changed.
- Traffic Sign Recognition is designed to only detect posted speed limit signs.
- On some vehicles, Traffic Sign Recognition works with Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control (iACC). See the iACC Quick Start Guide for more information.
Traffic Sign Recognition may take a short time to inform you of newly detected signs.
You should not rely only on Traffic Sign Recognition to detect nearby traffic signs. You must remain alert and aware while driving at all times.
